www.parrotwatch.org Parrot Watch helps to support and carry out research and conservation on endangered Parrot Species. The project raises funds for its conservation work by means of a sponsorship scheme, whereby in return for a small sponsorship Parrotwatch.org provides sponsors with access to unique video footage of the Yellow-Shouldered Amazon Parrot in its natural habitat. Web cams are fitted inside nests allowing monitoring and filming of chicks from the moment they break out of their shell. Video footage of parrots in the wild and project volunteers at work is also available. The website was developed using Joomla CMS with a custom video feature added to showcase the work that Parrot Watch does. The main project leaders also file field reports from location on Bonaire directly to the website. Registered visitors to the site can add their comments to any of the field reports. |
