I should start this of by stating that Mandy is Xact IT's MD's wife. So when she wanted a blog, she got one and pronto!
A hosting package, email and the Wordpress based website were installed and ready to use within an hour.
Mandy has many strings to her bow, check them out on her site.
The website is based on Wordpress. Mandy said after adding a few pages and posting some blog articles that "I wanted something that I could edit easily, this is so easy to use"
The Humanist Society of Scotland (HSS) have been hosting clients of Xact IT for a number of years, with Xact IT providing server administration and technical support while they managed their own website and independent forum.
The growth and success of the HSS meant that their existing website, based on static pages, was difficult to manage and maintain. On analysis some issues were identified, namely only one person within the organisation could add or change content and further that new features were difficult to implement from the rigid framework of the static website.
Working with students from the Edinburgh College of Art students, Derek Green , Adobe Certified Instructor and design consultant, provided design elements, new logo and images. Jim Ewing of Xact IT incorporated those elements into a new content management system. The new Humanist Society of Scotland website is based on Joomla and incorporates customised components including Flash slide shows, a searchable Celebrant directory with postcode locator, an online shop, Local Group Events calendar and numerous other new features.

Parrot Watch helps to support and carry out research and conservation on endangered Parrot Species.
The project raises funds for its conservation work by means of a sponsorship scheme, whereby in return for a small sponsorship Parrotwatch.org provides sponsors with access to unique video footage of the Yellow-Shouldered Amazon Parrot in its natural habitat. Web cams are fitted inside nests allowing monitoring and filming of chicks from the moment they break out of their shell. Video footage of parrots in the wild and project volunteers at work is also available.
The website was developed using Joomla CMS with a custom video feature added to showcase the work that Parrot Watch does. The main project leaders also file field reports from location on Bonaire directly to the website. Registered visitors to the site can add their comments to any of the field reports.

A project for the Constituional Commission of Scotland. The commission approached Xact IT with a problem, namely they needed a website up and running ASAP. The reason for getting the site live ASAP was an article was to be published in one of Scotlands leading newspapers within a few days and they wanted a website in place so that readers of the article could leave feedback and make suggestions about the form a Scottish constitution would take.
The site was developed using the Joomla Open Source CMS system and is fully search engine optimised. A comments component was added to allow vistors to the site to leave their comments to published articles.
